My Work

I have worked for Procter & Gamble Pharmaceuticals and Pfizer, where I used structural biology as a tool to assist in the development of potential new treatments for infectious diseases, CNS ailments, cardiovascular conditions and cancer. Most recently I led Structure and Design team at Monsanto, where my work enabled the development of novel traits to protect plants against insect predation, to elicit herbicide tolerance, or to enhance yield.


Artem received a dual PhD in Chemistry and Structural Biology from the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel. He then spent two years at the National Institutes of Health (NCI-Frederick in the lab of Dr. David Waugh) where he studied Yersinia pestis, the bacterial pathogen that causes the notorious Bubonic Plague.
