National Crystallization Center Staff Scientist Position

The National Crystallization Center at the Hauptman-Woodward Medical Research Institute (HWI) seeks a staff scientist to assist direction of daily operations.  The successful candidate will play a significant role in the Crystallization Center and will be responsible for both routine technical operations and developing new procedures in the crystallization laboratory.  The ideal candidate for this position will have a PhD and/or postdoctoral experience in macromolecular crystallography and will not be expected to write grants. This is an ideal position for a structural biologist with innovative ideas about developing new crystallization pipelines and working in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

HWI is a thriving site for structural biology. The National Crystallization Center, which has been in continuous operation for over 20 years, works with academic, non-profit, government and industry users.  HWI also houses a newly opened Cryo-EM Center located at HWI in Buffalo, NY, and manages the IMCA-CAT beamline 17-ID at the Advanced Photon Source at Argonne National Laboratory in Lemont, IL.

The compensation level for this full-time position will be competitive and commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications. HWI provides a generous benefits package.
