National Crystallization Center Lab Technician Position
HWI seeks a full-time lab technician to join the National High-Throughput Crystallization Center. We are looking for an enthusiastic applicant to work in the HTX Center. The technician will have opportunities to use state-of-the-art crystallography liquid handlers and imagers for crystal growth projects for HTX Center users. The successful candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related biological science. The ideal candidate will have two or more years of laboratory experience, including experience with protein crystallization. Strong communication skills, an ability to maintain excellent laboratory records, and mechanical aptitude with laboratory equipment is required.
The position will be based in Buffalo, NY and will remain open until filled. Application review will begin immediately.
HWI is a thriving site for structural biology. The National Crystallization Center, which has been in continuous operation for over 20 years, works with academic, non-profit, government and industry users. HWI also houses a newly opened CryoEM Center located at HWI in Buffalo, NY, and manages the IMCA-CAT beamline 17-ID at the Advanced Photon Source at Argonne National Laboratory in Lemont, IL.
The compensation level for this full-time position will be competitive and commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications. HWI provides a generous benefits package.
