Why are you interested in helping HWI?

As a life-long resident, I cringe at the trope of Buffalo being an old, tired Rust Belt city. That isn’t what I’ve come to know. Western New York is a vibrant and innovative place. HWI was one of the first to anchor the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus, putting it at the forefront of this budding new identity. Who wouldn’t want to help share that story?

Why does research matter to you?

Research matters to me because it is an acknowledgement that there’s still plenty of room for better outcomes in the world. It is a concession that we haven’t figured everything out yet, but we’re willing to keep trying. Progress is made when we steadily expand the body of knowledge on something until enough small discoveries add up to a breakthrough. HWI embodies this as it works daily towards the cures of tomorrow.
