Why were you interested in helping HWI?

I wanted to get involved with HWI because, while it’s not my career, both medical care and research are very important to me. Diseases, such as cancer, have had a major impact on my life and I value any chance to increase support for this field, while also increasing my own personal knowledge.

Why does research matter to you?

Research is important to me because it helps provide explanations for the world around us, and it is the way in which we can find solutions to the problems we face. Every person will face some sort of medical illness, either personally or with someone they know, and medical research can both point doctors in the right direction and give hope to individuals as they face medical uncertainty.
