Lab Technician at the National High-Throughput Crystallization Center
The National High-Throughput Crystallization (HTX) Center at the Hauptman-Woodward Medical Research Institute (HWI) seeks a full-time lab technician to join the HTX Center team. The technician will use state-of-the-art crystallography liquid handlers and imagers for crystal growth projects for HTX Center users.
This is a great time to join the HTX Center, as we are in the process of expanding service operations in support of our academic, government, non-profit, and proprietary users worldwide. We seek a laboratory technician who will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the current high-throughput crystallization services, as well as assisting with the establishment of new pipelines. The successful candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related biological science. The ideal candidate will have two or more years of laboratory experience, including experience with protein crystallization. Strong communication skills, an ability to maintain excellent laboratory records, and mechanical aptitude with laboratory equipment is required. Required Skills & Experience:
- Experience in a laboratory setting

Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with experience with structural biology
- Knowledge of protein crystallization experimental set-up
- Familiarity with electronic record keeping and Laboratory Information Management Systems
